For my position paper, I had to find a sustainability issue in my community and assess how Governor Hochul’s sustainability plan addresses this issue. I choose to focus on the MTA, specifically the LIRR, because I use it for my commute to school every day, and I have noticed that despite being one of the “most sustainable” modes of transportation, it is still the cause of many types of pollution causing harm to the environment.
